It's important to understand how to set up your commission before placing reservations. After all, commission is how you get paid! You can set your commission globally, per unit, per supplier, or on a per-reservation basis. Typically, your commission rate is a percentage calculated off of the base rental rate (before taxes and other fees). It can sometimes vary per unit based on the agreements you have with your owners.
Setting global commission
First, make sure you've set your global commission that you want to collect on each reservation. This is a percentage of the base rental amount and can be overridden on a per unit and reservation basis.
To set the global commission, go to:
Global Settings > Settings Assistant
Reservation & Fees Set Up > Pricing & Fees Settings
Enter the percentage in the field box
Override commission per unit
Don't worry, you can override the global commission for any applicable units if you have different agreements in place with your owners. Here's how:
Go to Owners & Listings
Listings > Advanced Unit Setup
In the filters section, select Financial and click the "Apply" button
Locate the "Override Default PMC Commission %" column and enter the percentage for the applicable unit
If the unit should use the global commission, leave the field value at 0.00. Only enter a percentage if you want to override the global commission.
Override commission per reservation source/supplier
You can also override the global commission for an individual channel or supplier. For example, you may charge a higher commission for Airbnb bookings or for a particular agent that you work with. In CiiRUS, this can be done by overriding the commission against any given reservation source. Here are the steps:
Select Global Settings > Settings Assistant
Reservation & Fees Set Up > Reservation Sources
Find the reservation source that you want to override the commission for and click the checkbox within the "Override Global Commission" column and then enter the percentage in the "Default Commission %" field
Click the "Save" icon
Override commission per reservation
You can change the commission for a particular reservation within the Reservation Folio. You have the option to override the percentage or enter a fixed commission amount. The fixed amount is helpful for new users who have imported reservations or for edge case scenarios where the commission is a fixed amount.
Here are the steps on how to change the commission for a particular reservation:
Find the reservation that you want to change the commission for and open the Folio
Scroll down to PMC Commissions & Owner Amounts where you can either override the percentage or enter a fixed amount.
