Migrating to Angular & Settings Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Welcome to the New CiiRUS Experience: Faster, more reliable, and easier to use

Updated over a month ago

We’re excited to share that CiiRUS is beginning a major upgrade to the platform. Over time, you’ll notice that some screens will have an updated, modern design and feel faster and easier to navigate. Other screens will still look familiar for now as we continue the upgrade.

This step-by-step approach allows you to keep working without interruption while we roll out improvements across the system.

All users will now log in with a personal email address and password.

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is now required for extra security.

Why We’re Making These Updates:

Simply put, we want CiiRUS to feel faster, smoother, and more dependable for your day-to-day operations. These updates allow us to:

  • Release new features more quickly

  • Offer a cleaner and more intuitive interface

  • Improve system performance and stability

  • Deliver a better overall experience for you and your team

This is all part of a long-term platform upgrade—designed to support the growing needs of professional vacation rental managers.

An Important Change: A New and More Secure Way to Log In

Alongside the redesigned screens, we are introducing a new login process that gives every user a more secure personal account. We’re introducing a new authentication system to:

  • Provide unique, secure login credentials for every user

  • Eliminate the use of shared usernames/passwords

  • Make account recovery easier

  • Strengthen account security through Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

The first time you log in, you will be asked to set up 2FA to better protect your account.

This means greater security and easier account recovery—no more shared company usernames or passwords.

What to Expect During Your First Login

Here’s what you’ll notice:

  • You will log in using your email address (each email must be unique across the CiiRUS system)

  • The first time you log in, you’ll be prompted to set up 2FA. You’ll scan a QR code using your phone’s authenticator app.

  • 2FA adds a quick step at login to confirm your identity using a secure, time-based code

After the initial setup, you can choose to switch your 2FA method to email or SMS if you prefer. This is a one-time setup, and it takes only a minute.

Setting up your authenticator app (first login)

The first time you log in, follow these steps:

  1. Enter your email address and create your password

2. Enter the confirmation code sent to your email address

3. Scan the QR code displayed on the screen

5. If you are using an iPhone, open your camera and scan the QR code, then click the yellow popup at the bottom of the screen:

If you are not using an iPhone, follow this guide to use Google Authenticator, or use another authentication app of your choosing.

6. From here, click the plus icon in the top right of the screen and add the username and password you just created in step 1. You can make the title whatever you want, but for simplicity you can just enter "CiiRUS Login". Click the blue check mark in the top right to save it.

7. You should now see a page with your login information and a six digit code. This code will be refreshed every 30 seconds. This is your 2-factor authentication code. Keep this page open.

8. On your computer, click the "Next" button underneath the QR code you previously scanned. You will be prompted to confirm your authenticator code:

9. Enter the six digit code you see on your authenticator, and click finish.

💡Tip: this authentication code refreshes every 30 seconds. Wait for the code to refresh, and then enter the new one it gives you to avoid getting an error.

This is a one-time setup and should only take a couple of minutes.

Logging in

Now that your authenticator is set up, you can log into CiiRUS. For your username, enter your email address. Then enter the password you set up previously.

After clicking "Login", you will be asked to type in the code from your authenticator app.

If you used the iPhone passwords app to set this up, open the "Passwords" app on your phone, click "Codes", and you should see the new authentication you created. Clicking on it will show you the six digit code you need to log in.
