When integrating your property listings between CiiRUS and Vrbo, there are several common issues that can arise. Here's a detailed guide to troubleshooting and resolving these issues effectively.
Key Steps to Resolve Issues
1. Allow Up to 72 Hours for Synchronization
After creating or updating a listing in CiiRUS, note that it may take up to 72 hours for the system to fully synchronize with Vrbo. If you encounter any errors during this time period, wait for the syncing process to complete. Many problems resolve themselves once the synchronization window has elapsed.
2. Verify Listing Configuration
Before syncing, ensure the following are correctly configured for each listing at Connections → Channel Manager → Vrbo: Rate Set, Multiplication Factor, Description Set, Terms, Cancellation Policy, and Instant Booking. Missing or incorrect values for any of these fields are a common cause of sync failures. Once all configurations are verified, allow up to 72 hours for changes to take effect.
3. Adhere to Vrbo-Specific Requirements
Vrbo enforces some strict guidelines for property listings. One example is the headline character limit — it must be between 20 and 80 characters. If your headline exceeds this limit, the listing may not sync or be accepted. Edit the headline to meet this requirement and retry publishing the listing.
Vrbo Minimum Content Requirements
Vrbo will not sync or publish a listing that fails to meet these minimums:
Headline: between 20 and 80 characters
Description: between 400 and 10,000 characters
At least 6 photos (10 or more recommended, high resolution)
Bedroom and bathroom count
Accurate address and geo-coordinates
Updated calendar and rates
Registration number (required in certain jurisdictions)
4. Ensure Daily Rates Are Enabled
Vrbo only supports daily rates. If your rates are not syncing correctly, check that "Use Daily Rates" is enabled in your rate set: go to Reservations → Pricing & Fees → Edit Rates → Actions → Edit Rate Set and confirm "Use Daily Rates" is selected.
Important: After your integration is active, CiiRUS becomes the system of record for rates, calendars, listing content, and photos. Any changes made directly on the Vrbo dashboard will be overwritten by the CiiRUS feed.
Additional Support
If you have followed the steps above and your issue persists:
Double-check that all mandatory fields in the Channel Listing Audit are completed.
Ensure there are no errors in your configurations.
Contact support for further assistance if necessary.
By following these steps, you can typically resolve most synchronization and integration challenges between CiiRUS and Vrbo, ensuring a smoother process for managing your property listings.
