Managing reservation sources
Updated over 3 months ago

Reservation sources are used to identify the source or supplier of each reservation. This information is important for tracking the performance of different channels and agents, and for creating reports and statistics.

The system comes with a number of predefined reservation sources, which can't be deleted or modified. However, you can create new reservation sources for any channels or agents that you work with that are not currently in the list.

Reservation sources are automatically assigned to a reservation, so you can easily see where the reservation came from. For example, if a reservation is from Vrbo, the reservation source will show as "Vrbo." If a reservation is from your website, the reservation source will show as "PMC/Web."

View and add reservation sources

To manage your reservation sources, navigate to:

  1. Global Settings

  2. Settings Assistant

  3. Reservation & Fees Set Up > Reservation Sources

The system comes with a number of predefined reservation sources, which are listed in the grid. Each source has a short-code, description, and color code. The color code is used to easily identify the source when reservations come through.

For example, the predefined source for Airbnb has the short-code "AIR," the description "Airbnb," and the color pink.

You can also add new reservation sources for any channels or agents that you work with that are not currently in the list. Additionaly, you could add a new source called "Long term" for any long-term reservations. This would be useful for accounting purposes, as you could pro-rate the rental income for these reservations.

To add a new source, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the "Add+" icon to add a new row to the grid

  2. Enter the code, description and choose a color

  3. Click on the "Save" icon

At the time of adding a new reservation source, you can also apply the disbursement rule for crediting the rental income. Click here to learn more about disbursement rules.
