Canceling a reservation in CiiRUS is easy from the Reservation Folio. However, there are a few nuances depending on where the reservation was sourced. This article will cover how to cancel the following reservation types:
Direct reservations
Vrbo reservations
Airbnb reservations
Once a reservation is canceled, it can't be undone. This is true regardless of the reservation source. If you cancel a reservation by mistake, you'll need to add it as a new reservation.
Canceling a direct reservation
Reservations can be canceled directly from the Reservation Folio. To do so, follow these steps:
Locate the applicable reservation > Open the Reservation Folio
From the header, click where it say's confirmed under Reservation Status > Choose "Cancel reservation"
Click "Yes" to confirm that you want to cancel the reservation, remembering that it's can't be undone:
After canceling a reservation, you'll still need to zero out the financials and refund the guest if applicable.
After a quick refresh, you'll see that the reservation status changes to canceled and the dates will become available on the calendar again.
Canceling a Vrbo reservation
Canceling a Vrbo reservation is the same as canceling a direct reservation. However, after canceling, you will be prompted to specify whether the cancellation was due to you (the property manager) or the guest.
Canceling a Airbnb reservation
Airbnb reservations are handled differently from other reservations because you need to cancel them within your Airbnb portal, not in CiiRUS. You can follow the steps provided by Airbnb on how to cancel reservations from your Airbnb portal.
