To guarantee that emails sent from CiiRUS reach their intended recipients, you'll need to configure the Outbound Email Settings. If you opt for CiiRUS's Transactional Email service, you'll need to add the provided email records to your domain's DNS settings.
This step-by-step guide will walk you through the process of adding the CiiRUS email records to your GoDaddy DNS.
Beginning February 14, 2024, Mailchimp will implement updated Sending Domain authentication requirements. Users who have already configured their domain must take necessary actions. Use CiiRUS transactional email, powered by Mailchimp
CiiRUS Transactional Email is a free service that ensures the deliverability of your emails. It's powered by Mailchimp's Transactional Email server, which is a purpose-built, high-volume email distribution solution. This option provides safeguards to prevent blacklisting and tracking in the CiiRUS system so you can see which emails have been sent per reservation and whether they were successfully delivered.
Step 1: Select CiiRUS Transactional Email
On the main menu, go to: Global Settings > Settings Assistant.
Navigate to the Outbound Email Settings section within Account Setup.
Choose the "Use CiiRUS Transactional Email, powered by Mailchimp (Free)" option.
Enter the email address that you want to use to send emails from CiiRUS.
Click the "Save" button to proceed.
Step 2: Access domain registrar
Login to your domain registrar's website, such as GoDaddy.
Locate the DNS configuration section for your domain.
Step 3: Create DNS records
Copy the TXT or SPF record provided by CiiRUS by clicking the "Copy" icon.
Back in GoDaddy, select "Add New Record."
Paste the copied value from CiiRUS into the newly created record.
Repeat this step for each of the three values in CiiRUS. Once the record is correctly added to your DNS, a green check mark will appear next to the value in CiiRUS.
Add additional authentication records
CNAME
Create two CNAME records: one with the name mte1._domainkey.yourdomain.com with the value dkim1.mandrillapp.com, and another with the name mte2._domainkey.yourdomain.com and the value dkim2.mandrillapp.com
DMARC
Create and save a TXT record in your DNS with a name of _dmarc.yourdomain.com and a value of v=DMARC1; p=none
Replace yourdomain.com with the domain you're setting up. Some domain hosts automatically add yourdomain.com after the initial value—contact your domain provider for any specifics.
