Charging for additional guests on Airbnb
Charging for additional guests on Airbnb
Updated over 3 months ago

If your rental home can sleep a certain number of guests, but you're willing to accommodate more, you can charge extra for additional guests. For example, if you've set your unit to sleep a maximum of 10 guests, but you want to charge for the 9th and 10th guest, you can configure this for Airbnb reservations.

Note that the additional guest fee is not itemized to guests on Airbnb. Instead, it's included in the nightly rental rate. This means that the fee could increase or decrease depending on the number of guests.

Configure the additional guest fee

To configure the additional guest fee, navigate to:

  1. Connections> Channel Manager

  2. Airbnb

  3. Select the "Field Chooser" icon and enable Guests Included and Price Per Extra Person

To set up an additional guest fee, follow these steps:

  1. Guests Included: Enter the number of guests included without any additional fees. Leave as "Default" to use the maximum number of guests set for the unit. Note that infants (children under 2 years old) don't count towards the number of paid extra guests. For example, if 8 guests are included in the regular rate, but the unit can sleep up to 10 and you want to charge for the additional 1-2 guests, enter 8 in this field.

  2. Price Per Extra Person: Enter the price for each additional guest between $5 and $300 USD. For example, if the price per guest is $20, enter 20 in this field.

  3. Click the "Save" icon above the grid to save you changes and push the additional guest fee to the listing on Airbnb.

If you leave the "Guests Included" and "Price Per Extra Person" columns set to "Default", there will be no additional fees for guests.

Reminder that the additional guest fee is not itemized to guests on Airbnb. Instead, it's included in the nightly rental rate. This means that the fee could increase or decrease depending on the number of guests.
