Airbnb request to book

If you want to disallow instant bookings for Airbnb, follow the steps in this article to enable 'Request to Book (RTB).'

Please note, Airbnb supports the following RTB scenario:

  1. RTB for last minute reservations only, with all other reservations being Instant Book.

Request to Book for Last Minute Reservations

Rather than a guest being able to instant book on short notice, you may prefer for the guest to request to book. For example, if a guest tries to book a listing to arrive tomorrow (or however many days out that you consider last minute), you may want to review their reservation request first.

To set this up, first input the number of days to enforce a gap between date a reservation is made and guest arrival date. Based on this value, if a guest tries to book on Airbnb within this range, the reservation will need to be approved first. For example, if you specify '2' days, and a guest tries to book for arrival within 2 days, the booking will not be instant and must be approved by you first, using the Airbnb account.

Navigate to:

  1. Owners & Listings > Listings >Listings Assistant

  2. Select the 'Online Reservation Settings' page from the Listing Assistant menu

Next, enable the RTB setting against the applicable listings within the Airbnb configuration grid.

Go to:

  1. Connections > Channel Manager > Airbnb

  2. Scroll in the grid to locate the 'Request to Book on Short Notice' column

  3. Check this box for any properties that should receive a request to book if the guest attempts to book a stay within the arrival window specified in the Listing Assistant.

Be sure to click the 'save' icon above the grid to save the changes and sync to Airbnb.

How to Approve RTB Reservations?

You must check your Airbnb host portal to view RTB reservations, they do not show in CiiRUS until they have been confirmed in Airbnb. The request will be pending in the host portal until approved or denied. Only if the reservation is approved, then it will appear in the CiiRUS calendar as a confirmed reservation and can be treated like normal.
